You may dislike his politics, but he had the intelligence and talent to grow from being just a pretty boy into a good actor and director. He makes interesting, often courageous movies. He in no way "washed up". I respect the guy, and hope that the rumor is false.

I really can't stand the garbage he directs...he's vastly over-rated, IMHO.

in my opinion. In Bridges of madison County he was much
like Mitt in that film. Working with one of the most passionate
& brilliant women in film history, he was totally stiff and
awkward & made the love story unbelievable (my opinion).

Hey Clint, remember how the conservatives hated you as director because you were supposedly too liberal?

Trash them on stage as an invited guest at their own convention, that's something an Eastwood character would do..

especially after Romney's column about letting Detroit go bankrupt. One would expect Clint to be kinda pissed about that. (He is still a republican, so any hypocrisy on the issue wouldn't be surprising either.)

I don't think she will be happy to see him on her stage tonight. Mind like a steel trap. 'How dare we give our tax money to Detroit!' Maybe he is back to explain things to her!

I think FOX is pulling this one out of their collective asses. Hologram Reagan is more likely than Eastwood. I realize Clint has supported and been elected as a republican in the past but, recently, he's stated his ambivalence towards current GOP ideology.

I could be wrong. One never knows. Whoever the "mystery speaker" is, they will be more buildup than payoff.
