Man Put Into Medically-induced Coma After Using 'Street' Vape Containing THC

'We're Uncertain Right Now If He'll Ever Fully Recover'

A man from Wisconsin is fighting for his life after vaping a cartridge containing THC—the main psychoactive constituent of cannabis—he bought on the street.

The family of the unnamed 26-year-old from Burlington say he is now in a critical condition, after doctors had initially believed that he was suffering from pneumonia.

His condition then deteriorated. Within 24 hours, he was being sedated and put into a medically-induced coma at the city's Aurora Memorial Hospital.

"These street vapes are very, very dangerous. My brother nearly lost his life. The trauma that he caused to his lungs is significant, the trauma that he caused to his heart is significant," the victim's brother, Patrick DeGrave, told Fox 6.

One never knows what is in them.

I hope this man recovers from whatever he ingested.

Ya know, Dr. Timothy Leary told congress making drugs illegal and creating a black market no one will know what they are actually consuming. He was right about that.

And it is more than an inference. There seems to be no acknowledgment that there must have been something else in there that caused the problem. THC itself does not do that to the lungs and heart, neither do the common ingredients in any vape liquid. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me, but there must have been some adulterant in the vape liquid. Sounds like someone is selling some bad shit on the street.

It may have contained some THC, but that's not what caused the problems for this guy.

What other kinds of garbage were in this "vape""?

More bad reporting from the corporate media.

stories on marijuana. Sounds like some industry (big pharma?) is getting worried they'll miss out on profits.

What the heck does the vape 'containing thc' have to do with this story other than to serve as indirect anti-marijuana fear mongering? It was NOT the THC that did this to the poor guy. Most likely whoever made the vape juice did something very wrong.
