Ive read about this and as I remember years ago there was a way to check if you were compromised. I had been but dont remember anything from back then.

No one ever notified me of any compromise - was it our responsibility to contact equifax and ask?
I feel like I should order a copy of my equifax and see if there is anything on it that would tell me if my info had been comprimised.

I love technology but there's a huge part of me that wants to ditch it all and live in a mountain cabin or on a boat somewhere.

It makes you sign off certifying that you are. I assume that they won't check that.
