Robert Mueller testified that his investigation found 126 separate contacts between the Trump campaign and the Russians, including multiple instances where Manafort (Trump's campaign manager) passed sensitive polling/campaign information to the Russians. Yet he also testified that he found no evidence of collusion. Could someone please explain how this is possible? It seems to me that 126 contacts, and the passing of "insider" information from within the campaign that could ONLY be used by the Russians in order to help the Trump campaign achieve its goals, is the very DEFINITION of collusion.
Also, if there was no collusion, then why was Trump running around actively obstructing the investigation? Why was he making statements like, " To Sessions) You were supposed to protect me." Protect him from what? A crime he didn't commit?
To me, that's like saying he found a dead body of a person Trump wanted dead, he found a smoking gun with Trump's fingerprints all over it, the ballistics all matched exactly, and he had evidence that Trump was in the vicinity at the time of the murder, but that he found no evidence that Trump committed the murder. What ELSE could he possibly have needed?
That's really my only problem with what Mueller did. I understand that he had one hand tied behind his back by the DOJ, but I think he had more than enough evidence to say that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

(1,517 posts)Collusion is not a legal term.
Mueller said there wasnt sufficient evidence to indict for conspiracy.
I believe that those 126 documented contacts and information sharing show strong circumstantial evidence of conspiracy to subvert the election. However, Im not a lawyer and I could be totally wrong.
I think Mueller blinked. He didnt ask for this to be thrust upon him and he was looking at years of hell if he had pushed it.
In the end, he backed off. I think he will go to his grave regretting his failure.

(11,885 posts)Went to meet people they knew were representing putin with possible dirt on Hillary they colluded. trump even had jr lie about what they were really meeting about tying to hide what it was all about (obstruction), getting dirt on Hillary, that was collusion. They didn't have to act on it , or anything else , because just meeting with them shows trump knew and has been lying all along knowing they did, and many other times too. Collusion isn't a crime, but they conspired with them to hurt Hillary by using her stolen emails along with other people's information hacked and used against them by trump. Trump being exposed is why he's now threatening President Obama and soon many others, then the country, by way of abuse of power, another impeachable offense. People should remember this at his sentencing hearings.
