A Tale Of Two Vacations
Last summer, my family took a vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. While in Gatlinburg, we walked past the Guiness Book of World Records museum, and in front was a wax figure of Donald Trump wearing his MAGA hat, giving two "thumbs ups," and standing behind a sign depicting all the "records" he set as President (i.e. oldest President at inauguration, etc.) I wanted to get a picture of myself giving the finger to the statue, but there was such a long line of people trying to get their pictures taken with it, that I could never find a lull to do it (and I didn't want to do it in front of a crowd of people lest I incur the wrath of all the hillbillies wearing MAGA hats clamoring for a picture with a wax figure of their hero).
Flash forward to this summer. My family and I just got back from Niagara Falls (Canada). There we encountered yet another wax figure of Trump wearing his MAGA hat at the Tussaud Wax Museum, but this one was treated just a little bit differently. This Trump figure was posed between a wax figure of King Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, and instead of giving two "thumbs ups," he was holding two small Russian flags. And everyone who saw it laughed hysterically and couldn't wait to take a picture (myself included). I thought, what a stark contrast between last summer and this summer. You could see just how much more respected around the world he is (sarcasm).
