They are going to try and end run all the hearings coming up by complaining about the "optics". FACTS are not sexy. They're serious. They are going to insinuate that this needs to end quickly and abruptly so we can get back to infotainment and propaganda.
"Optics" is the new "Benghazi".
Here's a thread worth a read:

(10,870 posts)Being totally honest, I watched both Mueller sessions in their entirety and I did have some questions about him.
He seemed a little slow almost like those in my family with early signs of dementia.
Im not saying he has it.
He just came off as unsure of himself at times.
I balance that against him not wanting to say anything outside of the report.
But, at times, he seemed a little uncertain about things in the report.
Him being 74 is, Im sure, a part of it.
And, yes, the conservative media will do and use anything they can to protect their cash cow Trump.
Still, we would be untruthful if we said we didnt notice a definite cognitive decline in Mueller.

(61,694 posts)bit of the investigation or write every sentence of the report. It's only natural that under oath, he'd be extra careful. He still sounded like his mind was working perfectly.

(4,143 posts)if I may...respectfully...that's optics, not substance.
"He just came off as unsure" <<<---- optics
"He seemed a little slow" <<<---- optics
I'm just saying. Optics is the new Benghazi

(15,751 posts)I understand the impatience - but timing is crucial. Big thrust needed in 2020 when more voters are paying attention. Don't want to peak to soon . . . or too late.

(56,828 posts)but, I think Trump is going by the Iran/Contra playbook and not Watergate. They're going to stonewall for as long as possible and then everybody will take the 5th, possibly even before any sort of hearing or public hearing.
And, if Trump loses in 2020, he's going to pardon everybody in December of 2020 or January of 2021, including himself. Dems will sue on the self-pardon and will probably win, but that doesn't mean everybody else won't get off scot-free

(34,661 posts)the White House Strategy. No one in the Media has ever followed up on the Lawyers defending all those ex White House people and the Balloon Pardon that was mentioned a couple times.
Bill Barr was not hired for his looks,he was hired to write Pardons and obstruct any and all Investigations into Trump's and the GOP's criminal activities.
Mike Flynn is playing Ollie North card.
