Man, what is with that Republican crowd?

Sometimes I think they're trying to throw this thing. The crowd is so meh about most of the speakers, except for Condi and Ryan and the gov. of PR and a few other ones. I have never seen such a blaise display.

Why do you think this is happening?

1. Because the RNC is a snooze-fest.

And once you've seen one speaker you've seen them all. They are all pretty much repeating the same talking points.

2. That will also be true of the Democrats.

It goes deeper than that. It's unusual in its total lack of passion. I saw people milling around during speeches and barely mustering a cheer.

3. Maybe the RNC is an extension of Mitt Romney's personality?

Or the delegates are really not passionate about him as their candidate? It is strange.

4. That meme of Romney being dull is getting old.

He seems very personable to me. Not someone I am voting for, but whatever.

Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It'sDo you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite

I don't believe that the Democrats will be lackluster in their responses to speakers during the convention. I believe there is much more passion among Democrats than the MSM likes for us to believe.

During Obama's campaign stops, the crowds have been diverse and highly enthusiastic and I would like to think that the 'professional' Dems...the delegates...would show the same fervor. We do know that there are a lot of naysayers in the party...why, I don't know. Many may not agree with everything that Obama has done, but he has done some very good things. My only complaint is that he has not gotten our troops out of harm's way. But look at the alternative...we need to support the President.
