"One of my neighbors has had a Trump sign in his yard since before the 2016 election, but..."

One of my neighbors has had a Trump sign in his yard since before the 2016 election, but he took it down the other day. I asked him why, and he just said he “made a big mistake.” Next time I see him, I’m going to ask what the tipping point was.

Many of you are curious as to why my neighbor finally removed his Trump lawn sign. I’ll ask him over the next few days and will be sure to post his reply.
👍

I just asked my neighbor why he removed the Trump sign from his lawn, where it had been since 2016. He replied, “I couldn’t ignore his racism any longer. My son [10 years old] asked why I still support him, and I had no answer. If you lose your kid’s respect, you’ve got nothing.”

One voted for obama twice, then trump, and now supports biden. I KNOW she hasnt reverted. She's rabidly anti trump now. The others say they are just not going to vote at all next year. "I cant see myself voting for a Dem, but i'm not giving that baby my vote again". I didnt ask, they volunteered the info, so i dont think theyre just blowing smoke.

Here's the thing; its ALL trumps fault. ALL 4 of these people kept telling me that trump was just playing a game during the election and afterwards he'd do what they ALL do; put aside the BS and act presidential. Hell, even I thought he'd do it to some extent. But his constant tweeting and harassment has totally turned them off. I'd bet they're not alone.

There are many credible stories of people who've come to realize their vote for Trump was a mistake. We don't know for sure if the person cited in the OP was referring to the advertisement as a mistake. Some who voted for Obama twice voted for Trump.

I'm still having a hard time believing that all 62 million trump voters are as racist as he is. There's got to be a tipping point or we really are screwed.

Sun Jul 28, 2019, 08:29 PM

is quite simple.

They were not happy with their lives, and could not see any way to improve things for themselves. So they put the 'make things better please, somebody' out there, then Smug Donnie came along and promised to do so.

They voted for Trump because they wanted to give him a chance, I mean, things couldn't get any worse, could they?

Then things got worse.

Most Trump voters are, hopefully, going to realize before the next election that things are in fact worse, Donny didn't - and can't - deliver, that he is bunkered down in a defensive, surly, non-productive, abusive frame of mind.

In short, if a Trump voter wants to protect what he has, he needs to revise his thinking.
But it needs something to kick that off. In this case, the 10 year old asking 'Why?' was enough.

Got to get that 'Why?' question out there, get Trump voters to re-evaluate why they voted that way. It might hurt their brains, but something good may come from it.

Racism & tax giveaways to the rich are anti-competitive. Sooner than later it sabotages the economy.

tRump voters need to be reminded that racism, sexism, and classism are not the changes they want. Only Democrats have and will deliver the changes they want.

Remind them that the economy does better under Democratic Presidents and legislatures. The Democratic Party is the only hope for people like them, who want their lives improved. They need to stop voting for the 0.1% because they have less than 0.1% chance of joining the 0.1%.
