Help I'm feeling really depressed I'm hearing that this is President Obama's to lose BUT

I have been voting since 88 and have seen just about everything the GOP dirty tricks bag holds. I am worried about suppression and electronic voting machines along with the biggest bunch of outright lies going unchallenged I've EVER witnessed it's like Rove and Atwater were cloned into one big fucking election stealing machine. I need a drink and somebody to tell me I'm wrong

I agree it's a big suppression machine but the 48 hour limit just got struck down (on MSNBC this morning) so if we keep fighting it and widen hell out of that margin our chances are best. As Obama might say, "Don't drink; vote!"

The wheels are not turning fast enough that will stop it~ what is the
hold up?

All I've heard is that we Democrats need to help people get to the polls but no laws/rules have changed as far as I know.

also in Florida. There was a ruling in favor of the suppression plan in PA unfortunately, but that is going to be appealed.

The outright lies are a problem, but I think the Obama team can come up with a way to make that backfire on them.

to read fivethirtyeight at the NYTimes.

It keeps me optimistic, but realistic, too. Using polling data and other factors, he has been able to accurate for the most part since 2008. I think Indiana was the only state he was off on.

As of last night they predicted President Obama will carry 300 electoral college votes and he has a 70.4% chance of winning the election.

Also, keep in mind that conventions are when candidates usually get a bounce. It's normal. Romney and Ryan will likely see a bit of a bounce. How long it lasts and how much of a bounce will Obama have after his convention are the questions.

My attitude is that if Obama can maintain the lead he's had into September, the likelihood that Romney will beat him is very unlikely.

Either way, it's okay to get nervous about Obama's chances. I think it keeps us grounded and realistic. He could lose. Just do your best to not let it drag you down to the point that you see no reason to vote or encourage others to vote.
