Senator Patty Murray calls for House to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump

Sen. Pat Murray (D-Wash.), the number three Senate Democrat, called for House Democrats to begin impeachment inquiries on Sunday.

"I agree with my fellow members of the Washington delegation that, as we have learned about the gravity of the potential threats to our democracy identified in special counsel Mueller's report, it has become clear that the House should begin proceedings to determine whether the president's action necessitate impeachment," Murray said in a statement shared by NBC News reporter Frank Thorp on Twitter.

Murray's office did not immediately respond to The Hill's request for comment Sunday afternoon.

Murray joins a growing number of Democrats calling for an impeachment inquiry after Mueller testified on the findings outlined in his 448-page report last week during House committee hearings.

Several Democratic congress members from the state of Washington, including Reps. Suzan Delbene, Denny Heck, Derek Kilmer and Kim Schrier, came out in support of impeachment proceedings on Sunday, bringing the total to 103, according to The Hill's whip list.

* Apparently British intel intercepted members of the Trump campaign having
conversations w/Russian agents in 2016. British intel passed these conversations
onto the CIA. Those conversations about to become public.

BTW this was not a result of spying on Trump and his campaign but British intel
surveillance of known Russia agents.

The man is a traitor to America and if the Republicans in the senate want to stand
up with him, fine.

If the House decides not to impeach Trump this term and--god forbid--Trump wins a second term, can they still impeach for things discovered in the Mueller report? I've been googling this and can't seem to find a definitive answer. My spouse told me there is a 5-year statute of limitations on impeachable offenses, but I can't find this information anywhere. If true, as long as the House starts impeachment proceedings as soon as a (can't even say it) second term begins, the statute of limitations has not yet run out. If by some horrible and awful chance that Trump wins, yet by some wonderful chance we keep the House and take the Senate, he could conceivably still be impeached.

I'm not saying this is the route to take, I'm just wondering if it's even possible to impeach upon a second term for things that happened prior. Is it a "now or never" situation?

criminal charges against him after he leaves office so if he doesn't get the boot now and he gets a second term its a get out of jail free card.

Use the findings of the Mueller Report to defeat him in the election. If that fails, go full throttle. It seems pretty clear Democrats will have a stronger Congress in 2021.

It can't be a now or never situation.

I think Nancy's hand will be forced. We are getting very close. Must be nearly 110 by now.
