A Trump-branded golf course in the Bronx lost money, according to reports and financial papers filed with the city.
The presidents company lost $122,000 while running Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point; despite a sweetheart deal in which the city agreed to cover the courses irrigation bills and its first four years of rent, the course was in the red for the operating year that ended in March. Trump has had little financial luck on the links. His Doral resort in Florida and his expensive courses in Scotland and Ireland have lost money, and some blame his polarizing presidency.
The course, which is located in progressive Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezs district, has seen a dwindling number of rounds played every year since its 2015 opening, according to The Washington Post. The city-built course, which cost $127 million, is operated by the Trump Organization under a contract with the city.
Critics have decried the courses greens fees, which top out at $224 per round.
Most of the citys other public courses charge no more than $53. The course is built on top of an old landfill, and offers views of the East River and two huge bridges.

(51,585 posts)like the tRump DC Hotel, endless golf trips to his Mar-a-lago club, etc. He is raking $$$ in hand over fist...the very reason he wanted to run for POTUS is the first place. Most corrupt admin and first family ever! The W House Swamp grows bigger by the minute.

(34,661 posts)very few Golf Courses are solvent on a stand alone basis. Fees per round will maybe make a Course break even, highly unlikely,we have lived in a Golf Community for several years. If it was not for the HOA subsidizing our Course,we would have had to shut it down years ago. So when I hear about Trump's Courses, the only one that might Cash Flow is that turd in Florida, the rest are not Cash flowing,no way in hell.
I have the monthly expense reports for seven years with out Course, and,we only were able to not subsidize our course a handful of times. And we are one of the few in the Southwest that can say we will be viable for a couple decades.

(15,381 posts)May be going extinct along with paper napkins, engagement rings, chain restaurants, etc. all thanks to Milennials, and this time, for sure, the captains of industry have themselves to blame for not wanting to pay fair wages as M's are the first generation to earn less than their parents, though it's unlikely they would pony up the fees even if they could afford them. Truly, it's like rain on one's wedding day.
