If a member of my party was POTUS and was trying to get my vote to win re-election, Id be really pissed-off that he thought bigotry and racism was the best way to ensure my support.
Id be really insulted if he thought me stupid enough to swallow his continuing litany of lies, and too much of a dumbass to notice that his lies are lies.
Id be acrimonious that he thought I was too out of touch with reality to recognize exactly how removed from reality he is that he thinks I believe that wind turbines cause cancer, that stealth bombers are literally invisible, and that the Revolutionary War was won by shutting down airports in 1775.
Id be furious if my partys POTUS assumed that I agree with his statements about shithole countries, Muslims being terrorists, Mexicans being rapists, and the idea that putting toddlers in cages is necessary for national security.
Id be beyond angry if my partys man in the White House stood on a stage in Helsinki and took Putins side over our own intelligence agencies, and declared that he was in love with Kim Jong Un because he writes beautiful letters.
Id be incredibly insulted if my partys POTUS decided that the best way to ensure my continued support was to ignore his blatant lies, his obvious stupidity, his failure to deliver on his promises, and instead embrace his efforts to divide our country to our nations ultimate detriment.
But thats just me. Apparently Trump, and the ass-kissing enablers in his party, have decided that appealing to the racists, the haters, the dividers, the low-info/low-IQ idiots in their party is their only chance to re-elect a racist, hate-filled, divisive idiot.
Id be soooo pissed-off if my party assumed that I was bigoted enough, dumb enough, and sufficiently devoid of morals to go for the bait they are currently dangling at the end of their hook.
Apparently, Republicans believe that appealing to the worst instincts among their base is their only path to keeping Trump in office. That speaks for itself and it speaks far more loudly and clearly than they are smart enough to understand, or politically astute enough to appreciate the dire consequences thereof.
When your only strategy is hoping that the racists show up at the voting booth next November, youre down to zero, because youve got nothing else to offer and it shows.

(333 posts)Use fear and racism (i.e crime, social programs, welfare, etc) to scare people to vote. Except trump intends to add immigrants to the mix. Immigrants (MS-13, drugs) are going to bombard the boarder and over run our cities. This is usually the last resort of people like jesse helms, strom thurman, trent lot, and others when they felt the race was getting tight. Trump is starting early! The only way this trailer trash technique will work is if they cheat or we don't vote. DUMP TRUMP 2020!!
