(22,061 posts)To beat Moscow Mitch. War hero and patriot vs traitor to his country. No contest.
Donate whatever you can to her, because Mitch's pockets are as bottomless as his greed.
Here's the email I received today:
Ive only been Mitch McConnells opponent for 20 days, and you wouldnt believe some of the awful things that are already being said about me.
This kind of politics is a big reason why some of my friends looked at me funny when I told them I decided to run for Senate. Mitch has a reputation for playing dirty and doing whatever it takes to hold on to power. And no one in D.C. has built up more powerful, deep-pocketed friends ready to mass-produce nasty attacks and put them on every TV in Kentucky.
Trust me, I know whats coming. And Ill be honest: I know that sometimes this is going to get rough. Itll be hard to see things that arent true get repeated over and over, and worry about what my kids are hearing people say about their mom.
But I learned early on that you cant let intimidation and scare tactics like that go unchallenged. You cant let bullies keep on bullying. Somebody has to fight back.
Im ready to take on that challenge.
Its not just because Ive seen scarier things than Mitch McConnell in this world. Its not just because Ive always been inspired by the courage and leadership of those who dare to take on the toughest fights.

(22,326 posts)"If you think about why Kentuckians voted for Trump, they wanted to drain the swamp, and Trump said that he was going to do that," McGrath said during an interview on MSNBC's Morning Joe. "Trump promised to bring back jobs. He promised to lower drug prices for so many Kentuckians. And that is very important.
"And you know what? Who stops them along the way? Who stops the president from doing these things? Mitch McConnell. And I think that thats very important, and thats going to be my message the things that Kentuckians voted for Trump for are not being done. Hes not able to get it done because of Senator McConnell."
McGrath, 44, embraced the president in a way that is bound to agitate some progressives voters, but it is an early window into her acknowledgment that Trump's popularity in the Bluegrass State, where he pummeled Hillary Clinton by 30 percentage points, is nearly impenetrable.
McGrath had a drastically different take on Trump when she described her feelings about the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.

(49,978 posts)I get that KY is a red state and you have to play to that crowd, but saying that McTurtle is blocking Trump doesn't really seem to make a lot of sense.

(32,633 posts)There's not enough Dems $ in Kentucky, at least for now. If she can hang in until the primary she'll get more help from DCCC. Please contribute what you can to this important race.
