https://miami.cbslocal.com/2019/07/31/miami-dolphins-legend-nick-buoniconti-dead-at-78/A statement posted on the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis website reads, Today, with a heavy heart and profound sorrow, my family and the entire Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and Buoniconti Fund community mourn the loss of a man who was truly larger than life, my father, NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti.
Buoniconti was 78.
The hall of fame linebacker, who played on the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins team that won the Super Bowl, suffered from the effects of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) for years.

He really was a good man and many will miss him for way more than football

(32,061 posts)2. Very sad.
Especially the part about him being yet another CTE data point. I am old enough to remember his from his playing days and the Super Bowl win. And, I'm not even a football fan. 78 is still too young...

RIP Nick.
