Living in the US with Dotard as President is like living in

A family where there is active alcoholism or untreated mental illness. Only it’s on the macro level.

And those who could do something about it are ignoring the elephant in the living room.

and of course wouldn't. For a long time now, the right's new ultrawealthy donor classes have been packing the Republican leadership and government positions around the nation with their corrupt agents, in the process promising to help protect the white man's party from a changing electorate.

Trump and McConnell's and Ryan's caucuses were merely signs of the Republican Party's massive, embedded corruption finally erupting onto the surface, and finally waking a sleeping electorate up to the scope of problem. And danger to our nation.

There's no point in bemoaning that they don't fix themselves. We're the ones who have to root their corruption out everywhere we can, removing hundreds of them one by one from governments across the nation until we establish solid new Democratic majorities and force the final, very belated collapse of the last of America's white male supremacy parties.

And then we go to work on those who'd be our ruling class.

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." Nancy Pelosi speaking to the nation at the opening of the 116th congress last January.

sense of dread and disgust. Every day that thing currently infesting the White House says or does something utterly vile. It's actually affected my health. They've doubled my blood pressure medicine since November 2016. I don't think it's a coincidence. I hate that that thing has such an effect on me, but I can't help these feelings of outrage that wells up in me. I've been disgusted in past years with other republican administrations, but this is on a subatomic level. It's visceral. It's horrific. And it's not just him; it's knowing that 40% of the people in this country actually approve of him. What kind of fucked-up country is this?!?

in office. I feel like one day I will wake up dead from some stupid thing he has done. I agree that this horror is many times worse than other Pub presidencies. I was literally sick to my stomach for 6 months after this thing was installed as president.

I wish I could find a way to sleep well. Even the low-dose anxiety meds the doc prescribed don't work! I've tried 3 of them!

Stop the enabling, set our boundaies, and focus on getting our own shit together. 45 is a distraction from the work that dems need to get done. While many people were mobilized right after he got "elected", now many suffer fatigue and are checking out of being politically active. Democratic leaders must call for folks who to be involved mostly at a local level to promote democratic ideas in local policy making in addition to defending and protecting those under attack from republicans.

That is exactly what we are living through. Degradation of others, scapegoating, sexual violence, constant lying, lack of empathy, deflection of behavior and most definitely a desire to dominate attention. We as a nation are victims of this man the same as families are victimized. As horrible as it seems Narcissist have advocates in their family, their behavior works on some. There is only one cure; get away from them, there is no other cure for the toxicity.
