So Moscow Mitch doesnt like his new nickname. Well, I guess so; everybody knows the bought-and-paid-for Senator McConnell really works for Beijing. Regardless, Ive listened to right-wing folks spew the Commie slur for decades, and as far as Im concerned, McConnell can pound sand. All these years taking Kentucky taxpayers money and I have yet to see him do anything to benefit Kentuckians, unless those Kentuckians happened to have a bajillion dollars to donate.
Now McConnell cant even make a move to help secure our elections because hes terrified that blocking foreign interference might put Republicans at a disadvantage. That should be a wake-up call for every poor fool who continues to vote for these self-promoting conservatives.
Facts matter. Details matter. History matters. Thats rich, coming from someone whos been in the forefront of the Republican Partys outright refusal to work for We the People, while proclaiming themselves the only real Americans.
Its past time people started calling it like it is. McConnell is starting to get a little of what hes had coming for years.

He will have a well-financed and credible opponent, I just hope she can raise the money to compete. Trumps liable to announce the HQ of Space Force is going to Goatlick, Ky before the election if necessary.

(3,433 posts)Behind that door lies the Democrats and with the Democrats are women, minorities, immigration, gun control, Health Care reform, election reform, multiculturalism and everything else that makes their lizard brains engage fight or flight. They are so desperately afraid of any change which might interfere with their hypocritical fundamentalist waspy world view that they will ensure Moscow Mitch remains in power even it means foreign governments exploit our democracy for personal and political gain.
Many republicans are indeed imbicile who believe the rhetoric but many more are not. They are just racist regressive bigots. They are fully aware that Trump and McConnell are traitors. Even if they personally find the treason repugnant, they fear liberalism even more. They fear social change even more. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
That is why the turtle face bastard remained in power.

I can't believe he wins the actual vote. I've seen him booed in too many places to the point he quit coming. His only support is big money and power hungry state legislators.
I'm probably wrong, but that's my take on it. But at the end of the day - you are right. He'll stay until he dies.

(33,512 posts)I looked Dr. Mazloomdoost up:
The child of two passionate physicians dedicated to a healthy perspective on pain, he watched his parents build one of Kentuckys first multidisciplinary pain clinics. He grew up in this practice and, from their example, pursued medicine. He is now fellowship-trained and dual-board certified in Anesthesiology Pain Management. He is at the frontier of scientific innovation, having trained at prestigious institutions including Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson. His numerous publications include esteemed journal articles and book chapters on new treatments for pain and information technology advances in medicine. Dr. Danesh has a long-standing passion for humanitarian medical relief and has participated in medical projects in Honduras, East Africa, and the Middle East. But he realized that there was also a need in the field of pain treatment in Kentucky. So, he returned home to Kentucky and has been working to fix the problems in healthcare contributing to the opioid epidemic and the neglect of proper treatments for painful conditions. He is now the medical director of Wellward Regenerative Medicine, continuing the legacy begun by his parents.

I had, until now, no ideal that Rand Paul was a physician, which goes to show that being well educated does not prevent one from being an ignorant fool.

(33,512 posts)I know that Drs. can be right wing.
My late father in law was a doctor and often voted Republican.
I just didnt know that Rand Paul was a doctor.
I have known people who have gone into medicine for money and prestige and not because they care.
Some are even good at what they do, but they are not good human beings.

(21,743 posts)Then Obama got elected and this guy put up dozens of signs in his yard. Pictures of Obama with a bone through his nose, or in Arab dress. "Somewhere in Kenya a village has lost its idiot", "Impeach the Traitor". He even put up spot lights to highlight his signs night and day. It was so bad his neighbors sued him (and lost). Totally nuts.
