in fact, why isn't liability insurance required for gun owners?

No insurance company in the world will cover an intentional act. Burn down your house on purpose and file a claim with your insurance company and see how that works out for you...

as well as the "oh, that gun was stolen" excuses.

and add 1 more bureaucratic inconvenience to the "well regulated milita."

do you think that any one law or policy will stop this? I think hate speech is as responsible for as much of this as guns are.

No semi-automatics in civilian hands period. I've yet to see a mass shooting with a Winchester .30-30 or a Lee-Enflield.

one of the worst blunders in Iraq and Afghanistan was our failure to disarm the "civilian" population.

When I Googled the question specifically, the consensus was that it would more than likely never get as far as a trial. The example given was a hypothetical robbery victim being hit over the head with a baseball bat and trying to sue the baseball bat manufacturer. The case would get tossed before it was heard. It doesn't seem analogous to me but that's what it said.

guns and bullets...and put that money into a fund to treat victims, both immediate, and long term care.

Taxes pay for other infrastructure, so maybe it's time to consider being out in public with these nuts a public liability.
