Based on The Deceptions in Ryan's Speech, Romney/Ryan won't survive the debates.

They can't 'redefine' their policy positions and say exactly the opposite of what they've been planning to do all along. All it will take is to question what they say at the convention against what they have stood on for policy. Then ask, which is the real policy you will implement. If they say what they said at the convention, they will be confronted with changing their entire policy platform and validate the Etch-A-Sketch imagery, being complete panderers to say anything to get votes. If they say they plan to implement the policies they've run on to date (Ryan Budget, Anti-abortion, etc), they will be exposed as lying in their convention speeches, and exposed for supporting policies that won't go over well with most of America. They have put themselves in a position where they will be damned either way. And it's all based on their own words they's spoken just this year.

I remember the first Kerry-Bush debate and seeing Kerry mop the floor with Bush and thinking it wouldn't even be close; Kerry would win in a landslide.

There were even some humorous internet jokes about all of Bush's missteps in the debate, i.e. his feeble retort, "You forgot Poland."

And yet Bush was re-elected. That somewhat put a damper in my enthusiasm on who wins the debates, althought it will still be interesting to watch.

Furthermore, Bush wasn't running on lies or trying to change his policy for whoever he was talking to. He was pretty blatant about it. There were many other factors as to why Kerry lost, but it had nothing to do with the Debates. That election and this one don't compare. Furthermore, the debates will matter here because Romney hasn't defined himself yet.

OMG, I was over at glocktalk.com in the political issues section last week. Those guys think Paul Ryan is the second coming, they all think his small govt thinking is so honorable. Its quite a way of thinking, I just don't get it. But that site is all gun loving people and mostly tea party I think.

Hopefully, enough journalists have rediscovered their professional obligations after Lyin' Paul Ryan's lie-fest last night.
