Real Militias have what are known as "Regulations"

codes of conduct, a lawful chain of command, training, discipline, qualifications for assignments, courts for dealing with unlawful acts, and procedures for removing those who unfit.

If you lack any of the above, you are not part of a "militia", you are in a self-appointed armed mob.
