This is when having dozens of Democratic presidential candidates is a positive thing. There are dozens of surrogates out there hammering home this message and few right-wing imbeciles out there to counter the fresher footage.

Even the new footage from gun nuts is the same old tired “thoughts and prayers, mental illness, why can’t we just all get along?” shtick.

Let’s hear more, Beto...

presidential candidates. They bring so many voices to the issues and because of their numbers, they amplify Democratic values and viewpoints. Especially during times of crisis, this is a good thing.

It excites more of our base. I don't get the rush to narrow the field, and leave a small number of candidates as the target for opposition research.

really didn't serve us well in 2016. Meanwhile, we are a diverse party and our many candidates reflect that diversity.

The Republican Party's use of fascist tactics is not something new, but what many of us have been screaming for the last forty years. I am waiting for a one of the leading Democrats to call him a damn lying fascist bastard racist. It is ridiculously delusional that anyone with any sense would delude themselves in to thinking that they can court and win the backing of any damn Republican. The situation is dire and it is time for some straight outright condemnation of the entire Republican Party as the enemy of the Republic. It must be destroyed if the nation is to survive. Its the Democrats choice. Either freedom or servitude. I am sick of the mealy mouthed major media. It is long past due that they challenge and denounce these hate Republican mongers rather than continuing to provide them with cover by claiming to be nonpartisan. The messages are not equal and do not share the same degree of objectivity. One is abject hatred and division against the principles upon which this nation was founded. Make the message loud and clear with no equivocation. We Democrats stand for the truth that is embodied in the nation's Constitution, Republicans stand for everything that the nation's founders abhorred. The Republicans are the enemy and must be defeated.

and good for Beto calling out the crap media, supposedly the eyes and ears of our democracy...they look but they don't see, they hear but they don't listen...and when a member of the pack says "we just report the facts, we don't make opinion" I say bullshit! Every time Trump spews hate..every time he targets a people and they report it that's not fact that's opinion..the media created this grotesque monster., they packaged him and sold him to the public and they are as responsible for the El Paso massacre as the deranged gun toting psychopath who drove 10 hours to kill hispanics...

I firmly believe he needs to withdraw from the presidential race and throw his efforts into running against Cornyn. I don't believe (despite what a masterful job of stripping away the veneer of civility of the rethug party, the racist-in-chief, and the media, now in the aftermath of the El Paso massacre), that he can win the nomination and run against the *thing* that is infesting the WH. I do believe, though, that he could unseat Cornyn in the senate. Cornyn has so mealymouthed aligned himself with tRump and his ungodly agenda that he might just as well have surgically sutured himself to the *thing's* ass.

His ability to draw huge crowds, his ability to raise funds and the potential to take Texas will make him a tempting VP choice if he can keep this up. He seems to have found his voice again. I think everyone has been underestimating Beto.
