You can list the racist screeds, you can point to the caging of children, splitting up of families, the misogynist remarks, the long list of crimes, the nepotism and so on by tRump.

You can lay out all the evidence in the world that proves his immorality and corruption, but the trumpers use this one thing to justify their avid devotion to their dear leader.

It's abortion. They use it thinking it shows the Dems to be much worse.

My sister and a few friends are trumpers. I've had these conversations with them.

Each and every time they go for abortion.

It's why they are just fine with everything else. Of course, it's more complicated than that because of their own bigotries and RW ideologies. But that's the fruit they reach for every time.

3. Being anti-abortion is simply masked racism. Banning abortion is to increase the white birth rate.

Increasing the white birth rate is necessary for them to stave off the replacement bullshit they fear.

The next time you receive the abortion excuse, ask that person what they think about banning abortion only for whites but allowing or promoting it for other races. I suspect you will see their opposition to abortion waver considerably.

Non-Whites have pretty significantly higher abortion rates; Whites tend to be more affluent, better educated, and among those who aren't the former, more opposed to abortion.

My ex-BFF has gone rabid alt-right, part of his new schtick is antiabortionism to increase the White birth rate...he never answers when I point out that a total ban would mean the entire country would be overrun with "black bitches whelping out litter after litter, to rape and kill all those White babies." My wife was raised Pentecostal in central Louisiana; her own mom is the twice a week church lady but is still sensible enough to be anti-abortion but still realize it's going to happen so it might as well be safe (she never told her own husband she voted Obama in '12 and Hilary in '16), but many of the people she grew up with are in that cult.

A girl she went to high school with actually said something along the lines of "29 dead because of racial hate is truly awful, but how many more have died at the abortionist's hand?"

- Free and low-cost birth control
- Pre-natal care
- Maternity leave
- Daycare
- Income equality for women
- Living wages
- Better public schools
- Economic policies that help low-income families

You can probably add to that list.

Republicans strongly oppose virtually every public policy that would actually reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies and abortions. Not only do they not care about the mother or living children, they really don't care about the fetus either - as long as they can make it illegal to choose.
