Trump will visit El Paso Wednesday. Growing chorus of people against

it. CNN

That is such a hard ass move by Trump. Show up there like he is all innocent so the people on the margins of not supporting him see him there welcomed and reality test that. Snow job.

His ego will be crushed to not be beloved and welcomed.

And he shouldn't be welcomed anywhere. He represents the hate that is spewing in this country.

You always hear of the "tightness" of communities after events like this, of which there are far too many. I am not discounting the sentiment or efforts of any other communities.

I have been many, many places and lived in several states on both coasts and the central plains. Nothing - no other place has been comparable to the very strong feeling of togetherness and community that permeates the whole of the El Paso I experienced.

If Trump actually shows up in El Paso, the resistance will be united, and overwhelming. He will be shamed.

Nobody deserves this crap, especially a close knit place like this. No wonder Beto is so passionate and emotional when he speaks about it. I hope they stay strong and weather this dark storm. Hopefully it will pass quickly and light will shine again.

How is this offensive to people living in El Paso? They don't want him there and for a good reason.

The mayor specifically said the "office of mayor..." and "the office of the president..." when talking about Trump visiting in the presser I saw yesterday afternoon. I inferred Trump invited himself just like he did after the Tree Of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh after the mayor and other leaders asked him not to come.

I heard him speak on the news but after reading reports they just say that he "is coming" so I may have misheard/misinterpreted it. I hope I did. That cretin should NOT go where he isn't welcomed.

He seemed very, very uncomfortable when announcing Trump was coming. Apparently during Trump's Feb rally in El Paso, the mayor did not attend, but Trump gave him a shout out anyway. The inference I took away from his words were that it's something that he has to do because he's the mayor, Trump decided to come and it's respectful to the office, not the man, to meet with the president.

But, to be fair, Trump was going to visit both cities regardless of who told him to stay away or how strongly they said it. When he came to Pittsburgh, the Rabbi met with him, but otherwise, he was pretty isolated during that visit.

They don't need the man who incited the person who invaded their city to show up. Trump has no compassion, no empathy, no sense of what others suffer. He's going there because some of his staff told him he had to.

Will he go to El Paso before or after Toledo?
