Im sorry,, I get the idea of not making them famous, but I think we are entitled to know who is wreaking death and destruction. Is it a coincidence that the white supremacists are finally getting recognized as domestic terrorists and NOW they arent going to tell the names? Imagine if the killers had been Muslim would they decide not to name the killers? If so, there would be an outcry, that the media was hiding something.
Its gotten a little embarrassing to certain people when the mass murderers are white right wingers? Is this more white privilege?
In the future, prepare for rewriting of history. The Gilroy shooter had some police department family connection. We will hear the aspects of the story that are convenient to some in power and not the aspects that are inconvenient.
We are already bereft of strong local newspapers across the country.

(28 posts)Naming names. I'm also for showing manifestos and social media accounts for the curious. I think showing the public the ACTUAL points of view and letting them make their own decisions on the possible motives of these killers rather than screaming "right winger" or "left winger" would do a few good things .
It would keep the media from forming this into whatever agenda they currently have. I've never been so tired of the news telling me what I should think or who I should hate or blame for this. Show me the info and I'll blame who I feel is responsible despite political ideology or race.
Elpasos manifesto is pretty telling of why he did it and who he was. Actually he gets pretty specific and predicted the medias response pretty accurately. Daytons social media account is also very telling of who he was. Not why he did it though. In the end I personally don't think these were RW gun culture people who did this. We know Dayton wasn't a RW'er. The guns were just an extension of their intention. They are/were sick people. I say show the world and let us decide.

(58,785 posts)of the killers she'd just mentioned. She specifically declined to claim any agenda by the Times, but we already know powerful people in that organization are using the Times to advance Republican power, often essentially lying in overall effect to do so.
The shorter list created by these omissions also occurred basically in tandem with that initial headline that touted Trump's call for "unity" instead of his accelerating promotion of violence. The headline they changed to was also misleading, inserting "assailing" as a suspiciously inaccurate description of his tepid teleprompter reading.
