Hypothetical: We are able to pass gun control legislation with teeth

and by teeth I mean consequences for ownership of assault weapons. Turn them in voluntarily or have them confiscated and go to prison. Who are we going to trust to enforce it? The cops and military are some of the biggest white supremacists and gun nuts around. It wouldn't surprise me if they refuse to enforce these laws and some of them-maybe even a lot of them-even cross over to the other the side in open rebellion. There are already counties that call themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries. I think this has the makings of an urban vs rural civil war.
