Years ago, I lived in CA. I remember the demand for strawberries soaring in the 80s. The task of harvesting strawberries in the fields is back-breaking hard labor and Americans WILL NOT do it. So, the gov of CA (Deukmejian) created a guest worker program where thousands of Mexican immigrants were invited into the San Fernando Valley to pick strawberries and other produce. The key word is INVITED.

Many never left because they were guaranteed jobs if they stayed.

Americans wanted strawberries on their cereal and didn't care how they got there.

ICE left little kids alone at school without saying anything or having a plan in place to take care of them. Many of these kids were American citizens.

If I left my kid at my kid's school 5 minutes past the close of the afterschool daycare, they would call the cops. Seriously. Because it amounts to child abandonment/endangerment, since the folks at the school have to go home.

How is what ICE did taking these parents from these kids without a backup guardian plan any different?
