So, I'm active duty Army, and I've wound up with some odd email subscriptions as I've ordered medals or gear online. Today I got an exciting offer for a free gym bag, only it's 'tactical:'

This is the mindset of, sadly, a number of people... and the eager businesses stroking this nonsense. Yikes.

1. I once got a spam-email...

Some widow in some country wanted to get her husband's fortune out of the country and needed my help. Her plan was to transfer the money to my bank-account and then yaddayaddayadda.

And why was she writing to me of all people? Because her husband knew me and told her that I'm such a pious, trustworthy Muslim... (I'm not a Muslim.)
