Attention admins: Right-wing ads are being served to viewers of DU

Specifically in the top portion of the screen when you view latest/greatest threads.

I happened to visit the site in incognito mode and saw multiple ads from:

The Trump Make America Great Again Committee
The NRA
The Epoch Times ("CLINTON FOUNDATION: PAY TO PLAY?&quot
Something called Conservative Buzz

I'm sure there are others. Isn't there a way to stop google AdSense from serving up this garbage on DU?

Spend their dime, which soon becomes a lot more, that is if everyone would do some “clicking.”

.

Now, keep this in mind.

1) You must go 1 click deeper than their landing page.

2) Your IP only counts once per day. So whether you click on it once or a dozen times, at the end of the day, there is a process that resolves duplicate clicks to prevent someone from gaming another person's ad campaign.

Just checked out Greatest Threads and taking up half the screen space at the top is an NRA ad disparaging of Bernie & Kamala!

If I'm not allowed to report here on a Democratic politician's actual voting record that sides with tRump and Rethugs 68% of the time---because, apparently that qualifies as "disparaging a Democrat"---then why the hell is the NRA allowed to assault Democratic presidential candidates on this site?!! Wow.

I give a yearly donation. Not a lot but worth it to keep away pesky ads and support my brothers and sisters in the struggle against this monstrous president.

Give now! Banish ads! You'll be happier.

If that's true DU may be stuck with those right wing Ads which probably represent the majority of the site's income. DU is a wonderful community and I visit almost daily. It's so cheap to purchase a membership that I'm surprised to see so many long time members and/or folks with 1000s of posts not support the site via membership. I think DU even allows us to pay what we can afford. Wouldn't it be great if everyone became a contributing member and those right wing ads wouldn't be seen by anyone?

a DU page is full of words like FOX, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, NRA, AK 47, etc., then the page will be filled with ads related to those people and things. Of course, you could give DU $10 for a completely as-free year--and in doing so support the site.

A huge Big Frog tee shirt ad (I've visited their site numerous times)
AOC, Bill Nye, EEOC wrongful termination ads
Make up ads
Clogged gutters ads
Teacher association ads

It's probably based on your browsing history. If you've researched Trump/NRA etc recently that might be why.

I will sometimes get RW stuff.pop up on other sites, but since I'm into make up and beauty products advertisers know they have a gold mine with me!

I understand why you saw them, but I don't understand the concern. People who come here, but who don't support DU with some sort of donation see those ads. Some visitors to DU actually ARE right-wingers, besides, if the regular commentary on other websites is any guide.

I donate once a year to DU in a one-time donation of an amount I think is appropriate.
