(24,652 posts)Not suggesting causation there, but boy did I want to call their alumni department and advise them this dolt was bringing me to the conclusion I'd be happy with my kids attending any university besides Harvard.

I'd say that Harvard stands up pretty well compared to a lot of colleges.

(24,652 posts)I am well aware of the many Harvard grads who have contributed to society, thanks. Did you honestly think I would make a determination about the quality of a school based on a single individual? I did not think I had to put a smiley in that post, figuring it would be completely obvious it's ribbing.
Well, I wasn't kidding about the employee being horrible and not someone the alumni office should include in their literature. But really, come on now.

That's self-contradictory and kind of Monty Python-esque.

(58,785 posts)He went quiet after his 2016 debacle, but looks like it's time for him to ramp up the religion again. He is a religious extremist, dominionist type, not just using it. He has a whole lot of competition for ruler of the U.S. of course.
Talking about murderous, just imagine the battles that'd ensue during a takeover between leaders of the various (overlapping) RW plutocrat, white power, and Christian dominionist factions. My money'd be on the last, but blood would flow between its religious factions also.
But there is logic in the destructive madness they're encouraging, as are hostile nations.

(10,134 posts)where were the school shootings in 1780?
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)but they were typically of a single person and that was usually the teacher. Nothing new about rage and emotional imbalance, but today is different of course.

(82,849 posts)There has to be some reason not involving a society awash in unfettered, unregulated access to firearms by anyone, anywhere that will successfully explain all these shootings. Ted Cruz is grasping at the God in the public square argument. It's all he's got.

(45,380 posts)for idiots. There have been shootings in churches. There were shootings done by church-going religious nuts.

(1,675 posts)What they want is religious law enforced by the arm of the state. To actually have religion in the public square would mean debating truth, creeds, dogma etc. Nosiree, they most certainly do not want that.

(6,576 posts)They DO wan enforcements by the State. And they dont want to hear any arguments against religion cuz they cant back it up.
