How is this guy even relevant. When he is sanest guy in the Republican Party, it says all you need to know.

(5,042 posts)There is a longtime poster here who bizarrely defends Sanford for "finding love" at every turn.

(9,942 posts)... blew that Hairball appearance. I hoped he would be more serious a challenge... never going to win over Crooked Donald, but at least make him sweat more.
Take a Hike, Sanford...

(40,181 posts)He is a throwback reactionary whose political philosophy is so conservative he often sounds like a member of The John Birch Society.
He is also a hypocrite. When he went on his little hike on the Appalachian Trial and was MIA for days on end, he demonstrated that he is not only cruel by publicly humiliating his wife, but also failed in his responsibility to his constituents.

(3,678 posts)My partner is really irritated by Matthews. I kind of get it. He does make some stupid comments and seems to fail at teleprompter and the show queues a lot.
And they should never have changed the show graphics. It had a familiar feel to it and now it feels like generic political show. :p

I am absolutely intolerant of shows parading tolerance in the form of republican lies.

(54,268 posts)He might be the sanest they have, but don't look for him to be on their ticket unless Dick Cheney and Karl Rove charter a trip for both Trump and Pence on a small private plane in bad weather. I asked him point blank last December what he was planning to do with himself. He looked a little forlorn and simply said, "I don't know." At least he was straight about it. Republicans don't like people who give straight answers about anything. Republicans are highly suspicious of people like that.
