RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Video shows the moment shots were fired during a shootout in Riverside that killed one CHP officer and left two more hospitalized.

The video appears to be filmed by a woman pulled over onto the side of the road near the 215 freeway, where the shooting took place.

Video filmed near the scene captures the sound of shots as the suspect can be seen approaching a CHP car with what appears to be a rifle.

sniper mind you, who failed to get control over some squirelly red neck during a traffic stop, so he was able to dash into truck and came out with a rifle. Officer hesitated and was killed. The footage was shown to illustrate how rapidly control can be lost and situation escalate.

Officer’s father felt he hesitated that little beat when he saw the rifle because after his military stint he didn’t want to have to kill.

Traffic stops...dangerous.

Assault rifle again,

Condolences to family. Very sad.
