You can tell from Trump's PA shooter tweet that he's carefully studied this from every angle

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

The Philadelphia shooter should never have been allowed to be on the streets. He had a long and very dangerous criminal record. Looked like he was having a good time after his capture, and after wounding so many police. Long sentence - must get much tougher on street crime!

Doesn't really fit his "very fine people on both sides" template.

When Trump accepted the GOP nomination:

"I have a message for all of you: the crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon come to an end," he said. "Beginning on January 20th, 2017, safety will be restored."
