Coachella woman who dumped puppies in trash pleads guilty, will serve jail time

Deborah Sue Culwell, the Southern California woman who was recorded tossing seven 3-day-old puppies into a recycling bin behind an auto parts business in April, pleaded guilty in court Wednesday afternoon to all counts related to the case.

Deborah Sue Culwell pleaded guilty Aug. 14, 2019, to abandoning seven puppies in a dumpster behind a Coachella auto parts business. She was arrested April 22.

She was sentenced to 365 days in county jail, although 90 of those days will be under a work release. Afterward, she will be on probation for seven years and prohibited from possessing animals.

Another 38 dogs were pulled from Culwell's home and later prepared for adoption after Culwell relinquished ownership. Most of them were turned over to area rescue groups.

If she was a hoarder, why would she be throwing puppies away? If she was breeding them for sale, why make mixed breed pups?

Either way, lock her up and throw away the key.

called Designer Dogs. They used to be called mutts. Mow they have a fancy name and a high price tag.

are going for about $1200. If you have 8 or 10 puppies that's a lot of cash.

That's the problem with pitbulls. too. They have big litters and pups sell for several hundred a piece. Easy money. Horrible for the dogs.

The woman is complete garbage and deserves every day in jail she gets to serve.
