7. This sort of casual shaming is pervasive .

I know people who will tell jokes that are actually put downs of others and not believe they are being insensitive. "Polak jokes, itralion jokes ( not misspelled). Jokes that are put downs of women etc.
I woman I know told a long involved story about someone with a speech impediment. Making fun of the speech impediment. Makes one think differently about people. Took her down a notch in my estimation.
