21. In the oklahoma video, the officer had no other choices.

He was just using muscle until she kicked him and twisted away. He had to resort to muscle because she just refused to comply even when clearly informed she was under arrest. She had to be removed from the vehicle because she had already run once. Unlike some videos, I didn't see punching or smashing the head. It really seemed the "continuum of force" was followed. I suspect the outrage is more about the fact that she's 65 and white than anything else. As you clearly said: white privilege.

I'm usually very critical of police, but it was hard to criticize this case for me.

I particularly find hilarious her argument toward the beginning of the video that the officer couldn't ticket her for a vehicle infraction she had received a warning for six months prior because it was something she could easily get fixed, but didn't. Wait, what? You just knew at that point that this was going to get a whole lot more stupid on her part.

The officer was being so polite and calm when giving he the ticket in the first place.

But she still had just enough privilege left that once she started physically resisting she was tased and not shot.

Not saying that a person of color would definitely had been shot. Plenty of people of color are tased when noncompliant. But the chances would have been much higher. He was never going to shoot her. Which is a good thing! Just wish everyone got that benefit.

They carry guns, and there’s simply no way to win on the spot. My father had a very low opinion of cops, but he always told us to do what they said should we get in some situation involving them.

Take your ticket and then fight in court.
