A spokesperson for CNN denied the allegations in a statement, according to People, saying that Hice had previously attacked the network via social media, and that he had attempted to extort Lemon in the past. A source told Mediaite that Hice previously had demanded $1.5 million from Lemon to not file the suit.

I really wish I had not read that allegation.

If someone did that to me, I don't know that I'd really even want to get into a lawsuit over it, really. It's certainly nasty, and sure, it's actionable. But I think I'd just as soon get past it than make it the focus of my existence, which is what a lawsuit does.

People are paid to present well on TV. What they might be like in private is another story.

But it does seem hard to believe.

And, yeah, of course I get that people sue over things, but let's face it. If Don Lemon didn't have a lot of money, it would be just be a drunk asshole encounter in a bar. Would someone sue over that if it was Joe Schmoe from Kokomo?

"People ordered lemon drops to taunt me" - well, okay, jack the price on those to $50 a pop and see who laughs loudest.
