1. I'll never understand how my intelligent female relative who was visciously

raped and was an ardent supporter of women's right remains a trump supporter to this day. We did not communicate for most of 2018 because of this and finally resumed our relationship this year with the condition that she never discusses trump or politics with me at all.

So far it's worked but honestly, it's still a huge struggle for me.

4. It's not just a friend, it's my cousin who has always been like a sister to me.

However, I get your point! It is awkward, but it's the only way we won't be estranged again.

On the other hand, I do have other "trumper cousins" that I've not been as close to. They are no longer in my life since 2016.

(Tragically, I live in a red state, so I am surrounded.) Thankfully, my immediate family is hard core life-long Democrats like myself.
