It's not that I don't think Franken wouldn't be good at the job, but having him on the ticket would actually hurt our chances of us winning.
As wrong as it was, this is a guy that actually got sent packing by Democrats. That's not going to play well in a general election.

why he'd so much better a choice than many others. We don't owe him or anyone any office. These offices are great honors and enormous duties, and those who accept them owe us everything.
