I explain to my students that us kids in the eighties had constant anxiety of being in a nuclear war and they just can't comprehend it. Why should they miss all the fun.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see military intervention in Venezuela either. They'd come up with some sort of excuse to get us in there, like how Bush Sr did with Panama.

The GOP loves these little "regional" wars, where they can take on a seemingly inferior opponent.
