The former speaker is renting a home in the Maryland suburbs. He is not planning to sell his Janesville residence.

Another reason for the move could be that he's not exactly beloved in Wisconsin. I'm sure he's o.k. in Waukesha County, but not many other places.

For many pols, it's very much "How Ya Gonna Keep 'em Down on the Farm After They've Seen Paree?"

DC as a world center of power and wealth is addictive. And not just pols, also journalists and many others who'll do a lot to be able to stay and associate in whatever circles they've managed to achieve. Intrinsically corrupting.

That probably means Pence is DOA, if the festering anal wart holds to his previous pattern. I guess maybe Ryan could actually be in line, I dunno. He really is a skeevy mo-fo.

Will he and Lindsey have some kind of showdown for the job?
