It's official--Clint went OFF SCRIPT!

EASTWOOD GOES OFF-SCRIPT IN ROMNEY ENDORSEMENT
BY DONNA CASSATA
ASSOCIATED PRESS

...Backstage, stern-faced Romney aides winced at times as Eastwood's remarks stretched on. The actor was the only speaker not reading from a teleprompter as he spoke. The machine was blank.

Twitter was instantly ablaze with comments mocking Eastwood's rambling speech.

Howard Kurtz, host of CNN's "Reliable Sources," tweeted that "Clint's empty chair act" was the "weirdest convention moment I have ever seen." Joe Scarborough, the conservative host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," declared "a great night for Mitt Romney just got sidetracked by Clint Eastwood. Wow. That was bad."

Minutes after Eastwood began his speech, someone created the (at)InvisibleObama account on Twitter. It already has 17,000 followers and counting.

Add this to it? Epic Fail!

but Jeb will be the return of the imperial dynasty. He'll be slick, faux-likable, and with the economy still a mess people who aren't true blue will think about voting for him.

Of course, that last part is irrelevant- the whole point is to make it believable that he could have won, so when the election fraud happens, there will be doubt. That's all they need.

People doubted Gore won. One of our most prolific and disgusting pro trolls from here pushed the meme that Nader caused that "loss." Later, when Kerry threw the match, that allowed for the doubt as well, even though for people like me, the numbers said GWB didn't win.

...The worst part is that I don't know what to do about it. The people who could threaten this cyclical game they play against us keep getting burned by our side. Dean could and would have rocked their boat. Edwards probably could have too.

He threw the script away. He was only supposed to be out there for five minutes. He droned on and on, as rMoney aides "winced"---if that's not "going off script" I don't know what is.

The RNC didn't want that hot mess. They may be stupid, but they aren't that stupid.

he didn't bring the chair up on stage, someone had to know what was going on other than clint

i think the 'going off script' and the aides 'winced' is their way of blaming the failure on clint.

it wasn't like there was a script on the teleprompter that he wasn't following....there was nothing there. jmho

85. Oh, I think he might have had a "chair bit" in his five minute script...

...but I don't think it included the whole "Go fuck yourself" thing.

He was only supposed to get in there, do a little schtick, and then get off. Instead, he pushed "the candidate" back way too far--maybe the reason Mittsy was slurring a bit is because he felt the need to take another pill?

I wonder if anyone willing to release the thing managed to snag that script that Mitt tossed away?

Where he, perhaps unintentionally, and indirectly praised Obama by praising the auto bailout. He desperately wanted to assure the Republican Party that he was on board still. And the Republican Party eagerly welcomed him on stage to make up for it, so eager they didn't even care he went on unscripted. LOL. Clint really made their day.

As a big "Fuck You" to the RNC after they jumped his ass over the Chrysler commercial? Dirty Harry is getting a bit senile, but he may have pulled a fast one here. I wouldn't put it past him.

All those children by all those women....he can't be an easy fellow to live with. I'm betting this is All About Clint, and he wanted a big piece of the spotlight--I don't think he realized quite how much "spotlight" he was grabbing!

If he was sticking it to the RNC, he was doing it for Ron Paul (his favorite from way back), not Barack Obama. A guy who has been a Republican all his life, who has consistently voted GOP, who supported McCain - Palin last time round, but who throws out a few crumbs to the movie going masses (Ewww, I 'support' gay marriage and choice, he insists--yeah, sure ya do) to stay in their good graces, is a bullshitter of the first order. If he really supported those human rights, he wouldn't back assholes who have the power to take those rights from us.

I am not buying Mister Eastwood at all.

I won't get all huffy and turn off his films or get dramatic; I can't stand Kelsey Grammar's politics, but I do think his Frasier is hilarious. Of course, I may not stand in line to pay for an Eastwood film...I'll wait until it comes on tv!
