Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's office doesn't answer phone calls

The Post called the offices of all 13 lawmakers representing New York City – even those in high-profile positions like Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler – and a real person answered the call on every occasion, in every office location, except for calls dialed to AOC’s two offices.

...snip...

A call to AOC’s Jackson Heights office goes to a series of voicemails with no ability to leave a message as of Monday.

...snip...

Aides to Ocasio-Cortez say the issue is call volume. Their office deployed a special phone filtering system that blocks callers without New York or DC area codes from even making it through. Such callers get a message directing them to the Bronx Democrat’s website. There’s no option to leave a message.

...snip...

Other members of Congress with a large national profile have staff picking up phones in their DC and district offices consistently, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and AOC’s fellow freshmen “squad” members. The Post was able to get through even when calling from an area code outside of DC and not from the member’s home state.

I have never experienced any trouble in contacting her office. And I am in regular communication with them.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez would probably have to hire two full-time staffers just to handle the whackadoos. Seems like she's practicing some fiscal restraint as well as concentrating on her duties without getting side-tracked by the whackos.

Imagine saying it doesn't make a difference where a story comes from.

Because Rupert Murdoch's hate sheet is just as legit as any other source. Unreal.

9. She has at very least a couple dozen staffers, and perhaps more,

a lot more. I've forgotten how many are paid for by us, but it's a good number, and many reps hire additional themselves as needed.

There's been a shakeup at her office, and this might have something to do with that. A couple of Justice Democrats/Brand New Congress anti-Democrat radicals who came in on her coattails made themselves extremely unpopular with hundreds of congressional colleagues their job requires them to work with (surprise!), and their departure was announced 3 weeks ago. But there's no mention of who will be her new chief of staff and communications director yet.

Me.

I have 212 and tried all her phone and got hung up on every time. As far as an office, does she even have one? Last I heard she had a desk in someone else's office.

She probably get more hate mail and phone calls than any other Congressperson. There are even ways to fake your area code for the determined trolls.

18. There is nothing in the constitution for a congress member to answer a phone call.

You can send a letter through the US mail or leave comments at their web site. Congress members are not YOUR personal representative.

All that would happen if they got thru would be directed to call their own representative.
