There's that poem from the movie The Omen:

When the Jews return to Zion
And comets fill the sky (all the ridiculous missile testing)
The Holy Roman Empire Rises (political chaos in Italy?)
Then you and I must die.

From the Eternal sea he rises
Creating armies on either shore
TURNING MAN AGAINST HIS BROTHER
until man exists no more

(Maybe not exactly, but close)

I'm most definitely NOT a Bible scholar or historian, and I don't even fully understand the first stanza. (Holy Roman empire rises?). Just, yesterday's events sparked this ancient memory...

4. I guess the poem is a play off Nostradamus' quatrains.

I think the visual needs a specific scripture reference. I'll look for one.

Is it like a summary of the Book of Revelations? Considering the source, I never really took it that seriously. But it did stay lodge in my brain. I guess that's weird.

choice to reign over America during a period of chaos, which of course is supposed to excuse political support for a depraved, un-Christian scumbag.

Not all evangelical RWers have forgotten the possibility of an alternative explanation, though.

The often-predicted collapse due to political corruption of beliefs hasn't occurred, but the evangelical world is rocking and roiling. Membership isn't keeping up with population growth, and young people especially are leaving in alarming numbers.

He was in his late 90s, a WWII vet and still almost as sharp as a tack. He was also a gospel oriented Christian and 'lifelong' registered Republican (who voted mostly D after Ford, really liked and respected Obama & Hillary & refused to change his registration... though lord, knows I tried. Lol). He was truly appalled and disgusted by what the Republican Party had become and that so many 'Christians' supported him. He died truly afraid for our country and the world.
