Possession of cocaine is a Class B felony and carries a fine of up to $2,000 and a potential prison term of up to seven years.

The Laconia Sun reports town records show that Chung owns a lakeside residence in Meredith.

"We are aware of the reports regarding Patrick Chung," the New England Patriots said in a statement. "We will not be commenting while his judicial proceedings take place."

The starting strong safety, who’s been wearing a red non-contact jersey in practice, has been recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
