Breaking from us: Facebook has banned The Epoch Times from advertising for trying to get around its review systems over the past year.
Facebook bans the Epoch Times ads after huge pro-Trump buy
By hiding its multimillion-dollar dark money ad spend, the organization is bypassing Facebooks political advertising transparency rules.
Following a request from NBC News, Facebook conducted a review of the Epoch Times new accounts, and as a result, banned them from future advertising on the platform.
Over the past year we removed accounts associated with the Epoch Times for violating our ad policies, including trying to get around our review systems, a Facebook spokesperson said. We acted on additional accounts today and they are no longer able to advertise with us.
The spokesperson explained that ads must include disclaimers that accurately represent the name of the ads sponsors.
Brendan Steinhauser, a Republican strategist who advised the Epoch Times on how to break into the broader conservative movement, told NBC News he arranged its introduction to the conservative conference CPAC and arranged dozens of interviews with right-wing newsmakers.
Though he doesnt manage their social media strategy Steinhauser said the Epoch Times handles that internally he said creating multiple pages and accounts without clearly labeling their connection to the wider organization was a common practice used by public relations or political campaigns to bring in subscribers and donors.

(8,020 posts)officials from China visited the White House. They decided to back tRump because they thought, think he will be tough on China. Strange outfit. Also, they are anti gay rights, typical religious cult bigots.

(45,380 posts)to put limits on this sort of big money from special interests. Maybe appoint judges to overturn Citizens United and pass some good regulations.

(962 posts)It is the Chinese dance troupe that Falun Gong uses to raise money all over the world. If you've ever seen it, it gives off a really creepy cult vibe. The dancing is heavily about the "plight" of the Falun Gong worshipers. I think in light of their full-throated support for Trump, they need to experience a boycott.
