The majority of Americans oppose removing President Trump through impeachment, according to a new poll by Monmouth University, even as his approval ratings remain low.

According to the Monmouth poll released Thursday, 35% of Americans support impeaching Mr. Trump and removing him from office, while 59% of Americans oppose that course of action. Only 41% of Americans want the House Judiciary Committee to open an impeachment inquiry against the president.

1. Wait until after Labor Day

...the Clinton impeachment inquiry didn't begin in earnest until after Labor Day, with the full House voting impeachment just before Christmas 1998.

Similarly, in 1974, the House Judiciary Committee started in full overdrive sometime in May or June of that year, voting three Articles of Impeachment in late July, and Nixon was gone by August 9.

Doesn't take a huge amount of time, and when the evidence comes out, I'll bet you the numbers change significantly. The House has been in recess for a while and things will start heating up soon.

Watergate, which was clearly awful, and "Monicagate", which was zero, are nothing compared to Russiagate.

(I hope!)

clueless so many Americans are to the threat Trump poses not only to the country but to the entire world. Impeachment should never be based on public sentiment because you can't expect a large group of people to equally understand the danger Trump poses. Also take into account that many Americans support him and therefore will be biased anyway. Impeachment is about whether or not Trump broke the law and/or the damage he could do in the future. It's about checks and balances, not damn opinion polls. I'm growing tired of political opinion polls because they don't tell the whole story and can be manipulated.

4. Do you think President Trump should be impeached and compelled to leave the Presidency, or not?

The fact that Pelosi has been putting the brakes on doesn't help matters at all.
