THREAD) MAJOR BREAKING NEWS (CNN): Convicted Kremlin agent Maria Butina's longtime boyfriend confirms that Don Jr. met secretly with Kremlin agents for an hour during the 2015 NRA Conference in Knoxville; Don Jr. therefore lied to Congress about collusion. Please RT and read on.

THREAD) It's time to separate fact from fiction in the case of Patrick Byrne, Maria Butina, Trump Jr. and a cadre of FBI agents and leaders. This is a still-developing story—but problematic reporting and Byrne's bad framing are muddling events. I hope you'll read on and retweet.

I don't expect that to change.
At least not while Throwup remains in the whitehouse.

lots of long threads with shocking and breaking news....

often goes nowhere.

Speculative conjecture.

While this may be problematic, unless the wider press picks up on it, I don't see it making many waves.

Could be they're delayed by VERIFYING.

OR this may just be be more abramsoning -- purveying sensationalized pretend-insider spins and grand jetes off national news from New Hampshire.

Wryly amusing to look back and realize Abramson's social media "success" lies in the eager following he gained by predicting Sanders would win when all real analysts were explaining why he literally couldn't.

inadequate Abramson's "credentials" are compared to credible sources respected and admired by their peers.

But, just maybe go find for yourself out what happened to Newsweek that it is, tragically, no longer a real news magazine and why its honorable, ethical people had to leave. The final implosion of a once-great magazine as it turned increasingly shoddy and disgraceful in desperate attempts to avoid bankruptcy was national news while it happened. Before they finally left, many good journalists were embarrassed to put their names on the scummy material they were being required to produce. Those who replaced them may or may not be.

But that these days, desperate for readers, Newsweek publishes OPINION pieces from people like Abramson, thus requiring no investigation and avoiding even their degraded and corrupt editorial process, is a huge indicator of how far it has fallen.

When the list of Newsweek distinguished reporters is in the hundreds if not thousands..

Your description of its demise is self serving at best and shoddy reporting at worst. The magazine like hundreds of others has gone through financial rough times due to digital media.

Daily from New York to Los Angeles and everywhere in between, print has to retract and correct.. That is the nature of news today, and your depiction is disingenuous to say the least.

"I think what he has stated could very well be true."

"could very well be true" is speculation
"what he has stated" is an assertion (carrying the weight of truth or fact)
Investigative journalism, which you herald, is about running down facts and verifying .. that's something different from opinion and conjecture.

And, no, I don't listen to FOX. I also don't think that the way to answer Fox .. is to gin up a bunch disinformation and slip shod journalism in order to compete. I suspect you and I disagree on that last point. I've never been too keen on the "fight fire with fire" or the "takes a crook to catch a crook" line of thought. Just seems disingenuous. My LDay is going to be pretty light, no particular complaints there, and it looks like we can count on nice weather. Hope you enjoy yours as well.

As long as there isn't something official besides all these breathtaking twitter stories, I'm not buying it (anymore). I heard the same shit for the last 3 years with various Trump family members surely heading to prison. This exact story was also made an issue some time ago already. Some people are just milking everything for Twitter fame and nothing ever comes out of it.
