(39,313 posts)Fascinating to see this being brought up. He made the point that we don't learn this in US schools.

(39,313 posts)Hope he doesn't dilute the show with too many topics, in depth would be nicer.

Even though I like his news hour I think he would really take off as the host of live shows about politics. Like Oprah, only strictly about humanitarian and political issues. I would love to see him do this for the children in cages, and climate change, issues tied up with political inaction.
His impact would be tremendous if he did that. His humor would be fine in such a setting. Would even make it the subject matter more interesting.

(32,630 posts)... when they do some planning with the audience participants beforehand. Not that they hand a script to each person, because that would kill the spontaneity. But they need to review the subject of each question and whether the person can present it for a quick reply. If they don't do that ahead of time, things can really get out of hand especially when it goes on live.
MSNBC show runners seem to know how to handle this type of audience participation show.

(3,623 posts)And, shortly before that, Chris said he was doing it again next Friday. I missed all but the last few minutes of his show so I can't confirm Rachel's assessment, but, is he going to stick with this format going forward?

(3,623 posts)But I'll certainly tune in next Friday. Rachel raving about anything tv-related is the Good Housekeeping seal of approval for me.
