(6,800 posts)has been going on for probably decades, certainly longer than I have been aware of it. I first noticed it when Obama was elected "Why does he hate our country?" Heard it everywhere. This from people who actually DO hate out country in the sense of hating the Constitution (except maybe the Second Amendment.)
Thing is, they actually believe it. I'm afraid it's not going to go away. If I knew the best response to it, I'd share, but I don't. When people think that any criticism, even the mildest and most constructive, means "hate," it's very hard to get through to them.
