(1,408 posts)I tried the link a few times and it worked but I'm doing it on my phone and we don't get along.
When I clicked on it my phone asked me how I wanted to open it. Chrome, FB. They both worked.
I'm still learning how to copy&paste with the phone. Sometimes it works.
Back in the 70's & 80's I worked part time as a bouncer in a few places in the Oregon District but mostly up and down the Dixie Strip.
My full time bouncing job was in a bar up north of Dayton called The Brass Rail.
Those were some good times. Memory might be a bit sketchy about some of it but it was good times.

(7,143 posts)Between the cops raiding strip clubs - leading to their closure - and the tornado that destroyed pretty much all of Dixie and Siebenthaler, it's just a smattering of used car dealerships now.

(1,408 posts)I think the last time I was down that way I lived in Piqua and we drove down Hoagies for pizza and draft beer, then down to where the McCook Theater used to be just to see what it looked like.
The Strip was pretty run down then. Then they closed all those no tell motels and no other much has moved in to replace them.
That was probably in the very late 90's.
We moved out of Piqua back in 1999.
Still north of Dayton though. Those tornadoes went to the South of us to Dayton and north of us to Celina.

(7,143 posts)This is EPIC.
BTW, the sirens you hear in the stream are little fire department vehicles (like golf carts) attending to the crowd.

(7,143 posts)She was definitely here, doing a sound check earlier:
https://www.wdtn.com/news/local-news/watch-live-kanye-west-hosts-sunday-service-at-riverscape/
... and she was spotted just prior to the show by volunteers guarding the bus docking area.
Chris Rock was on the playlist:
I'm thinking that the show ran late, including two full sets by Chance the Rapper and Stevie Wonder, both of which were absolutely stunning.
Not complaining, though. It was a thorough blast and a huge boost to a grieving city.
