The Republican women running for office in 2020.

I saw an interview with them (all white) on Morning Joe today and I wondered if anyone else here had also seen it.

These women understand that their party is run by men. What was unclear to me from this brief interview is what are the trying to bring to the discussion besides the fact that they are not males?

IOW, what are they doing in the Republican party?

No questions were asked about reproductive choice, income inequality, environmental issues that affect us ALL, immigration policies that lock up little children and tear families apart, and unequal health outcomes in our country.

What DO these women stand for and wish to accomplish if they are elected?

I'm glad they are at least THERE but I have dark suspicions that they are willing puppets to be used for PR sake, not for any real changes in policies.

Please inform me. Thank you!

They're called troublemakers for wanting to run against the men, they want climate change, guns etc. considered and they're running as Cons?

gradations of views within the party. And clearly, the GOP is the only place politically that a rabid anti gun control advocate can go to be politically effective but certainly there are those who do favor certain restrictions on guns. It does stand apart because I think these women feel they can voice support for some, lukewarm reforms. And I think there is room for just a bit of climate change reality thinking in the GOP but not much if they get close to the stubborn facts about what is happening to our planet and how urgent this issue has become.

Sooner or later, these women are going to cross some lines within their party and will either have to give in to the powers that be or leave the party and become Independents. We'll see how all that works out. But I think that is the next chapter of this story.
